Together – where wanderlust and Bavaria meet

Seven years of construction, more than 5,000 participants, one common goal. The new Terminal 1 Pier opened its doors on April 21, 2026. With an area of 95,000 square meters, it offers a modern gateway to the world that combines international capability with Bavarian hospitality.

Together – en route to the future

Munich Airport and Lufthansa have been connected since 2003 through more than just a joint venture – it is a partnership that has definitively shaped the location. Now we are taking the next step with our memorandum of understanding, creating additional capacity for up to ten million passengers annually.

Together – where the airport meets its neighbors

Nearly 37,000 people and 470 companies in one shared location. After Lufthansa, Munich Airport is the largest employer on the campus. By adding EUR 7.3 billion of value in Bavaria, the airport makes a significant contribution to the region’s economy and prosperity. Dear Sir or Madam,

In a global environment where instability has become part of everyday life, the need for security, reliability, and orientation is growing steadily. Munich Airport’s mission is to create and sustain connections – at a time when new boundaries are emerging in many parts of the world. We open up opportunities where other pathways are narrowing. By connecting regions, markets, and cultures, we bring people and perspectives together. Our airport is a place where we work together with our partners and employees, and for millions of travelers, to shape the future – reliably, responsibly, and with a firm belief in the unifying power of air travel.
